new this morning out of missouri, fire officials remain on the scene of a gas explosion that sparked a massive fire in a kansas city restaurant last night. ad candidate offer dogs spent hours searching through the rubble. no reported deaths but the blast did injure more than a dozen people. cause remains under investigation. a city official earlier said it was believed to have been caused accidentally by a utility contractor. the white house is

developing more aggressive responses to cyberthefts after a report accuses china of hacking american companies and government agencies. the obama administration is considering fines and other trade sanctions against any country found guilty of cyberspying. china denies involvement in any of those hacking attacks and claims it is the victim of hacking coming from the united states. the white house is releasing a report later on today on the steps to take in response to cyberattacks on u.s. targets. today is deadline for disgraced cyclist lance armstrong to decide whether he wants to cooperate with the u.s. antidoping agency. the organization banned him from racing for life following its own findings and armstrong's mission hay use performance enhancing drugs. meantime, the warm reports armstrong hired d.c. lobbying firm ben barns group to look into the agent heading a federal investigation into him. the report claims the firm was hired in july 2010 and investigated the fda agent for three months.
